Ruth Wickline

WILMINGTON, Ill. — Mrs. Ruth Wickline, 77, of Wilmington, Ill., and formerly of Joliet, Ill., passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 14, 2013, at Silver Cross Medical Center.

Born Sept. 2, 1935, in Anjean, W.V., Ruth was a daughter of the late Oscar and Glenna Hudnell-Forren. She was raised and educated in Alderson, W.V., where, on May 1, 1952, Ruth married William "Ebb" Wickline.

Ruth held employment at DeSoto, Inc. in Joliet for 32 years, until her retirement. She attended  Island City Baptist Church in Wilmington, and will be remembered as a very giving person.

Ruth loved spending time with her sisters and keeping in touch with them on the phone. She also enjoyed bowling and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Debra (Tom) Glenn of Wilmington and Myra (Bob) Parrish of Braidwood, Ill.; four grandchildren, Daniel Glenn of Braidwood, Rachel Glenn and Jessica Parrish, both of Wilmington, and Darrell (Renee) Parrish of Channahon, Ill.; seven great-grandchildren, Leah Glenn, Corinne Ewenson, Spencer Parrish, Brandon Glenn, Abigail Parrish, Charlie Faulkner and Blake Faulkner; four sisters, Vaughna Ochs of Virginia Beach, Va., Drema Miner of Wilmington, Shirley (Tom) Schlosser and Helen (Greg) Reineke, both of Defiance, Ohio; one brother, Junior Forren of Columbia, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Forren and Glenna Surgeon, and her husband, William Elbert "Ebb" Wickline (on Aug. 27, 2000).

Visitation and video tribute were held from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Freitag-Reeves and Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, Wilmington. Funeral services followed at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, in the funeral home. Pastor Ron Taylor from Island City Baptist Church in Wilmington officiated.

Burial was to follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, where Ruth was to be laid to rest with her husband,Ebb.
