MCHS holds active shooter demonstration

Officers, faculty take part in Feb. 15 school safety training

During the teacher institute on Feb. 15, 2013, Morris Community High School faculty and staff participated in an active shooter demonstration presented by Sergeant Dustin Geier and Trooper George Del Rio of the District 5 State Police.

Involved in the training were additional officers from the Illinois State Police, Morris Police Department and the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department. The training was designed to provide faculty and staff with procedural updates and the experience of a realistic scenario involving an active shooter and hostage situation.
