Road to Reality to be held Feb. 20 at MCHS

Published: Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 6:56 a.m. CDT

The community is invited Wednesday, Feb. 20, to take a tour on the Road to Reality and witness the effects of destructive relationships.

Visitors of Morris Community High School will be able to interact with many community resources, including presentations on drugs, alcohol, STDs, yoga, crisis support, adolescent therapy group, self-defense, drunk simulations and texting/driving simulations.

Small tour groups will leave every 10 minutes or so and take the group on a journey which follows “Megan” as she navigates high school and the many relationships that she develops and choices she makes. The content of the five skits is suggested for middle school age and above, as coarse language and sexual situations are played out.

The event is being sponsored by Teens Resisting Our Universe’s Problems Effectively, a drug and alcohol free club at MCHS.  The Speech/Drama club, as well as the National Honor Society members, are also participating in the staffing.

The doors open at 6 p.m. with the first tour leaving at 6:30 p.m. and the final tour beginning at 8:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please call Celia Mistretta at (815) 941-5345.
