Two Newark men arrested for burglary

Two men were arrrested Feb. 15 in connection with the theft of an all-terrain vehicle from a residence in Newark, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

A warrant was issued Feb. 8 for Michael Pribyl Jr., 19, of Coy Park Drive, Newark, for burglary, a Class 2 felony, and criminal damage to property. A second man, Jonathan Hook, 18, of 300 Franklin St., Newark, was also charged with burglary, a Class 2 felony.

Kendall County Sheriff’s detectives began an investigation into the July 23, 2012, incident in which an ATV was reported stolen from a residence.

Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies responded at 11:15 a.m. July 23, 2012, to a residence in the 17800 block of Townhouse Road in Newark, concerning the report of a burglary. The victim reported that someone had entered a building on the property and took the ATV.

While investigating, detectives received a lead on the case that led to police linking Pribyl and Hook to the incident.

Both subjects were taken into custody on Feb. 15 at their residence by Kendall County deputies.

Bond was set at $25,000, with 10-percent to apply, for Pribyl. Bond was set at $10,000, with 10-percent to apply for Hook.
