Mellen to present Titantic program

Are you interested in the events that occurred on the fateful night that the Titanic went down?  The Morris Area Public Library will offer a program, “The Night the Titanic went Down,” at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 28.

The Night the Titanic Went Down takes a look at the Titanic disaster and what it reveals about the various classes of society and the crew who were on the voyage:  what their accommodations were like, their reasons for taking the voyage, who was most likely to survive and what the Titanic teaches us about the end of the Edwardian era. The program will look at some of the well-known and lesser-known personalities aboard that night, and follows up with some of the survivors.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
