Genealogy Guild to meeet March 16

OTTAWA, Ill. — The La Salle County Genealogy Guild will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at the Guild Library, 115 West Glover St., Ottawa.

Kane Farabaugh, an experienced television, radio and online reporter and correspondent.

His career began as a broadcaster in the U.S. Air Force at the American Forces Network in Korea and then Japan. He reported from the front lines of war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and has covered events ranging from U.S. Presidential elections to the Olympics.

Kane serves on the board of directors of the Ottawa Historical and Heritage Museum, and is a board member with the Ottawa Township High School Educational Foundation. He is currently the Midwest Bureau Chief Coorespondent for Voice of America. He will present a program to the Guild regarding the researching of the genealogy of his family.
