Suit filed by mother against man dismissed

Published: Monday, March 18, 2013 10:10 a.m. CDT

A case where a mother was suing a man for running over her daughter was voluntarily dismissed this week.

Last July, Amber Cohn, of Morris, filed suit against Eric W. Robison, of Norridge, who allegedly struck her 6-year-old daughter while she was riding her bicycle in March 2012.

On March 20, 2012, the complaint charges that Cohn’s daughter was riding her bicycle on Lincoln Street near the intersection with Butler Street. Robison was traveling westbound on Lincoln and backed his vehicle into the girl, running her over.

The suit accused Robison of negligence in keeping a proper lookout for the child, failure to stop or slow and operating the vehicle in reverse without first determining if it was safe.

Cohn was seeking compensation for medical expenses and disability caused by the crash.

Cohn voluntarily dismissed the case with leave to refile.
