A woman filed suit last week against a Coal City woman who allegedly injured her in an automobile accident June 9, 2011.

Hollie L. Chesko is suing for in excess of $50,000 for medical bills, pain and suffering, lost income and because she is now disabled due to the collision.

On June 9, 2011, Chesko was stopped near the intersection of east Division Street and south First Avenue in Coal City when Kristina L. Basham of Coal City was allegedly driving east and hit a vehicle behind Chesko that then hit her vehicle from behind.

The court filing states Basham was speeding, failed to keep a proper look out, failed to yield and did not have proper equipment on her vehicle to stop within a safe distance.
