MARSEILLES, Ill. — Mr. Merle Jelm, 75, of rural Marseilles, Ill., passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, at his home.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at the Mueller Funeral Home, 800 First Ave., Ottawa, with the Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, prior to the services at the funeral home.
Merle was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Marseilles, Ill., to Clarence and Mildred (Harlow) Jelm. He is an Army veteran.
He married Deanne E. Erickson on May 20, 1972, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris. She passed away Feb. 6, 2010. Merle farmed in Rutland and Miller Township.
He is survived by one son, Ronald Jelm of rural Marseilles; and one grandson, Reese Jelm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Deanne; and one son, in infancy, Jeffrey Jelm.
