A woman is suing the Grundy County Speedway, the Grundy County Agricul-tural District Fair, the county of Grundy and the Short Track Auto Racing Series after she was injured last summer while walking in the grandstands.

Virginia Babecki was at the speedway June 30, 2012 to watch the auto races happening that day.

While coming up the ramp and walking in the second section a “large piece of wood, from broken and rotted wood in the walkway” penetrated her foot, according to the case file. It states she is permanently disabled and has large amounts of medical, surgical and hospital expenses.

The case states the parties were careless and negligent and failed to repair the wooden walkway and seats in the grandstands.

In the five-count case, Babecki is suing for an excess of $50,000 against each of the four defendants.
