Peace Lutheran Church in Morris welcomes Pastor Luanne Bettisch as its new pastor. She will preside over her first worshop service on Sunday, May 12.

Born and raised in Stockton, Ill., she received her bachelors in Music Edu-cation/Voice from Eastern Illinois University. After serving many years as a full-time church musician, directing choirs and praise bands, she attended the seminary with the intention of becoming rostered in the ELCA as an Associate in Ministry.

But God had other ideas.

She graduated from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago with a Master of Divinity and was ordained in May 2011.

Pastor Luanne and her husband, Al, are looking forward to being a part of Peace’s church family and the community of Morris.

Peace Lutheran Church is located at Lisbon Road and Candlelight Lane, Morris.

Worship service is at 9 a.m.; Christian Education follows at 10:15 a.m.
