Kendall Emergency Management seeking damage assessments

Published: Saturday, May 4, 2013 5:00 a.m. CDT

The Kendall County Emergency Management Agency is requesting Kendall County residents and business owners with structural damage and/or monetary loss attributed to the recent flooding to contact the Emergency Management Agency to complete an initial damage assessment.

This is being done in an attempt to secure federal funding, which could possibly be used to reimburse citizens of any monetary loss not covered by insurance.

The form can be found at the Kendall County website, http://co.kendall.il.us.  The link is on the main page titled, “KC EMA Initial Damage Assessment Form” and will provide users with an electronic form that can be filed in minutes.

There is no guarantee of federal financial assistance being made available, but collecting this data is an essential first step in determining if Kendall County and the state of Illinois are eligible.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and the Kendall County Emergency Management Agency will continue to keep residents informed about developments.

Residents are urged to check the Kendall County Website, and the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page for more information.
