Missing Medals

Elton L. Monson, superintendent of the Veterans Assistance Commission of Grundy County (est. 1999) – which is no longer recognized as the county’s official VAC — presents Arthur B. Turner, a Korean War veteran of Morris, with the medals he earned while in the U.S. Army from March 5, 1952, to Feb. 24, 1954. Turner received the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and Bronze Star Attachment, and the United Nations Service Medal.
