The Lady Irish track team won its own Class 1A meet on Friday night, finishing with 167 team points.
Individually, Willow Stuedemann was first in the 100 dash (:12.749), the 200 dash (:26.45) and the 400 dash (1:01.54). Additonally, Aspen Stuedemann won the 100 hurdles in :14.978, Cortney Helms won the long jump (16-10), Lexi Wilkinson won the triple jump (33-08.75) and Rebecca Henry the shot put (34-05.
As far as relays go, Seneca also won the 1600 event. That team of Helms, Mackenzie Maierhofer, Shailee Bauer and Willow Stuedemann won with a time of 4:14.521.
The Seneca 800 relay team was second. That squad was made up of Michaela Hart, Bauer, Helms and Mickey Juricic and they ended in 1:53.464. Also, the 3200 relay team of Caroline Collet, Claudia Paulson, Lexi Bogren and Mali Sellheimer were second in 10:45.576.
Also for the Fighting Irish, Rylee Anderson was second in the high jump (5-02) and Collett in the 3200 (12:24.82), Wilkinson in the 100 (:16.734).
The Seneca 400 relay team of Helms, Bauer, Hart and Wilkinson were third in :53,849, Maierhofer was third in the 400 dash (1:02.765), Aspen Stuedemann was third in the 200 dash (:27.422), Madisen Warning was third in the pole vault (9-0) and Claudia Paulson was third in the shot put 32-02.
Minooka boys win SPC Meet
PLAINFIELD — Minooka totaled 151 points to easily outlast Plainfield East’s 103.5 and win its second straight championship Thursday.
Winners for the Indians were Cam Knudsen, Erik Brick, Chris Wilson and Alex Pierce in the 4x800 relay (8:03.18), Luke Stovall, Mitch Miller, Devin Ingram and Jake Smith in the 4x200 relay (1:29.06), Daniel Ingram, Pierce, Jake Smith and Wilson in the 4x400 relay (3:21.22), Ethan Cane in the long jump (22-0), Devin Ingram in the 200 dash (22.76), Pierce in the 800 dash (meet record 1:56.81), Smith in the 100 dash (11.23) and Wilson in the 400 dash (49.44).
Also All-Conference from Minooka were Devin Ingram, Cane, Miller and Smith in the 4x100 relay (second; 43.31), Peter Andreano (second; 6-3) and Kurt Zumbahlen (fourth; 6-1) in the high jump, Brock Whalen in the shot put (second; 48-11), Knudsen in the 1,600 run (third; 4:27.92), Trevor Rogers in the discus (third; 151-8), Andreano in the triple jump (fourth; 40-10.75), Joey Santillo in the 3,200 run (fourth; 9:41.24), Daniel Ingram in the 400 dash (fourth; 51.15) and Zach Zamora in the 110 high hurdles (fourth; 15.18) and the 300 intermediate hurdles (fourth; 40.51).
Minooka finished second in the sophomore meet behind wins from Andreano in the long jump (18-10.5), Nolan Barajas in the high jump (6-1) and Matt Dlugopolski in the 200 dash (23.53).
DWIGHT — Ryan Kodat had 2 hits, including a home run, and 3 RBI Friday for the Trojans (7-16-1, 3-13) Thursday in Interstate Eight Conference play. Winston Watkins had 2 hits and an RBI and Austin Gantzert a single and 2 RBI. Kiefer Kious pitched 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs, for the win.
Coal City 4,
Nate Chapman was the winning pitcher allowing five hits and three walks while striking out 10.
“He had a little run on his fastball today,” Coal City coach Jerry McDowell said
At the plate, D.J. Budde had two hits, including a double, Austin McLuckie had a single, an RBI and a run scored and Brennen Shetina a hit and an RBI.
Ryan Schuetz got the complete-game victory for Seneca on senior night. He allowed four hits and fanned two.
At the plate, Trent Nugent, Daniel Hamilton and Josh Rohder each went 2-for-3.
Oswego East 3
Joe Butler was the winning pitcher. He went five innings allowing six hits and four walks while striking out four.
Jake Null had four singles at the plate while Kenny Walsh had a triple and two singles. Also, Butler and Cole Thompson had two hits each.
Plainfield Central 6,
Erica Gualandi was the losing pitcher for the Redskins.
At the plate, Alex Kjellesvik was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Lauren Severson was 2-for-4 with a double, Gualandi was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Leah Lines, Laney Torkelson, Maddy Feeney, Alex Cook and Taya Torkelson also singled.
