FRANKFORT — May is national Military Appre-ciation month. To show their appreciation for our men and women in the armed services, Currie Motors Ford of Frankfort is hosting its 6th annual Memorial Day fundraising event with Operation Care Package.

WCCQ radio, The Northern Mustang Corral car club (displaying assorted vintage Mustangs), and Mixed Martial Arts sensation Clay Guida will be present at the event signing autographs.

OCP is a not-for-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to devoting countless hours putting together care packages that are sent to military personnel around the world.

Any one can go into the dealership at 9423 W. Lincoln Highway, Frank-fort, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday May 25, and sign up their loved one serving abroad to receive a care package at absolutely no cost.  Each care package is valued at $25 and Currie Motors is going to pay for the package.

Representatives from OCP will be on hand ac- cepting donations of any kind, from toothbrushes to sun screen to cash donations. In addition to paying for the care packages, Currie Ford will be matching every monetary donation up to $500.

“We’ve been doing these for 6 years now and it just keeps getting bigger and better each year” Leo Sfikas, general manager, said. “This is not about selling cars to us, it’s about giving back not only to our community but to those that keep our freedom intact.”
