JoAnn Senter was born June 17, 1932, in Joliet, Ill., a daughter of Paul and Martha Gallo Senter. She married John Calvin “Cal” Peters on May 20, 1951, at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, Ill.

She worked at the Joliet Arsenal, serving as administrative assistant to the commanding officer. JoAnn transferred to the Rock Island Arsenal, following the closure of the Joliet Arsenal, and worked in the Munitions and Ordnance Department as an Ammunition Specialist. She retired in October 1990, after 26 years of government service.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, participating in their many activities, and going on fishing trips with her husband.

Peters of Milan, Ill.; grandsons John Peters (fiancée Elizabeth Scherrman) and Michael Peters; brother and sister-in-law Anton and Irene Bosonetta of Coal City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Thomas and Joanne Peters of Coal City; numerous nephews and nieces; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Calvin J. “Cal” Peters; and a sister, Mary Martha Craterfield.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Bickford Cottage in Moline for their exceptional, tender care and love during JoAnn’s stay, as well as Heartland Hospice, especially Mark, Abby, Ashley, Emily, and Jack, and Dr. Alex Pareigis.
