BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Mr. Kenneth Leo Bushue, 53, of Bloomington, Ill., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at his home.

Born Aug. 15, 1959, in Joliet, Ill., Kenneth is a son of the late Darold and Sharon Brockett-Bushue. He was raised Catholic, attended school in Braidwood, and graduated from Reed-Custer High School. Kenneth went on to serve for the United States Navy until being honorably discharged in September of 1983.

On Nov. 18, 1983, Kenneth married Melissa M. Osburn in Joliet.

He worked at various nuclear generating plants for over 32 years, and was currently employed with CBI at the Clinton Exelon facility. Kenneth was an avid golfer, enjoyed basketball and football, and was also an enthusiast of all sports. Some other activities he enjoyed were gardening, horticulture, history, cooking, grilling, and vivid storytelling.

Above all, Kenneth cherished the time he spent with his family, and always put his family’s best interests first. He was the number one supporter for his children in sports and all the activities they were involved with.

He was the rock of his family and taught his children how to work hard to achieve their dreams, just as he had done in his life.

Survivors include his loving wife, Melissa, and three children: Kyle, Tiffini, and Valerie; two brothers; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Osburn-Drauden; three brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Kenneth’s memory to his family for their distribution.
