The 3 French Hens anticipate better weather for the upcoming French Market on Saturday, June 8, while an impressive amount of vendors promise to wow with their vast selection of goods.

Those who braved the weather for the first Market in May will recognize many of the shows favorites, as well as several first time sellers ... approximately 133 spaces will be filled!

Along with the addition of farm fresh beef, chicken and eggs, the Hens welcome organic vegetables to the farmers’ market fare.

Be sure to stop by Ro’s Cookie Jar and meet one of the newest members of the Market. Ro’s one-of-a-kind, whimsical sugar cookies are sure to amaze, and she is always happy to make custom orders for special occasions.

Those shopping for a Father’s Day gift should stop by woodworker Frank Kobilsek’s booth to find something as unique as Dad.

If it’s flowers you need, there will be a vast selection of annuals, perennials, air plants, and orchids.

The French Market takes place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on West Illinois Avenue, at CanalPort Park in downtown Morris, Ill.

During this month’s venue, a Ladies Luncheon will be held to celebrate the recent publication of “Pie•ography,” a cookbook featuring 42 pies and the women behind the recipes.

Signing copies and sharing stories will be photographer Traci Thorson, Plano, Ill., and photostylist Anne Marie Klaske, from Nada Farm.

Reservations are a must for this event, as seating is limited.. and Anne Marie promises fresh baked pie for all!

French Hen organizers Traci Tessone and Monica Vogel will be showcasing simple summer floral arranging and luncheon guests will be making a floral arrangement to take home.

The sweet sounds of classical violinist, Colleen Lawrence, “Growin ‘n’ Music” will be featured on the wooden canal boat.

The French Hens encourage shoppers to pack a small cooler in their car for perishables, so that shoppers can continue their afternoon in downtown Morris, visiting boutiques, pubs and restaurants.  Stick around, have an early dinner, and stroll Cruise Night, one of biggest vintage and classic car shows in Illinois.

3 French Hens French Country Markets are held, rain or shine, the second Saturday of May through October.
