The Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run Saturday had about 2,000 riders participate, said Denise Carson, coordinator for the Marseilles event. This amount was less than previous years due to the weather.

The ride annually starts at the Grundy County Fairgrounds in Morris and ends at the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial in Marseilles.

This was the 10th anniversary of the wall and 226 names of men and women who were killed in action in the Middle East from May 16, 2012, to May 15, 2013, were read at the ceremony.

Two more panels need to be added to the wall before next year, said Carson, so they will be raising money for this project all year. To donate visit ilmotorcyclefreedomrun.org.
