Hospital sets schedule for diabetes programs

Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers has announced its schedule of free diabetes education programs for August.

A “Medications, Monitoring, Foot Care” class will be offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Morris Hospital Ridge Road Campus, 27240 W. Saxony Dr.,Channahon.

This class will provide an overview of diabetic medications, tips for monitoring blood sugar, how to get the most out of office visits, labs with goals in mind and prevention of complications and foot care.

The Diabetes Support Group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Ridge Road Campus. This interactive support group is intended to provide a relaxed environment where people with diabetes can learn from others who understand the unique challenges of living day-to-day life with diabetes.
