Stolen vehicle involved in I-55 crash

Juveniles in vehicle apprehended in Channahon

Illinois State Police District 5 Troopers are currently investigating a hit-and-run-crash involving a stolen vehicle.

The crash occurred in the construction zone on northbound Interstate 55, in the area of Arsenal Road, at 7:42 a.m. today, Wednesday July 31. No injuries occurred as a result of the crash.

The stolen vehicle was occupied by four juveniles, who left the scene of the crash and were later located at the Pilot gas station on U.S. 6, east of Interstate 55. Three of the juvenile subjects were apprehended at the vehicle, but one of the passengers fled the scene on foot and was apprehended by troopers a short distance away.

No names are being released by the Illinois State Police because the defendants are minors.
