BIZ BITS: Wiss joins SPACECO as new vice president

ROSEMONT — SPACECO, Inc., a member of The Burke Group of companies headquartered in Rosemont, Ill., has announced that Gary A. Wiss, P.E., has joined the firm as vice president.

Wiss was formerly president of Gary A. Wiss, Incorporated, a Northbrook civil engineering company with extensive experience on the North Shore. The firm had been responsible for a wide range of projects for both institutional and private clients.

The firm served as the lead civil consultant to the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe. Other notable projects include North Shore University Health System, Northwestern University, New Trier High School District 203 and 203 N. Wabash for the John Buck Company-Virgin Hotel development.

SPACECO, Inc. has been providing a full range of civil engineering, and surveying services since 1989.

Legislative update planned on Aug. 14

On Wednesday, Aug. 14 the Channahon Minooka Chamber will host a Lunch & Learn featuring State Senator Sue Rezin, State Senator Pat McGuire, State Representative Pam Roth and State Representative Larry Walsh, Jr.

The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the Four Rivers Environmental Education Center, 25055 W. Walnut Lane, Channahon.
