Kendall Crime Stoppers seeks info on burglary

Burglary information sought by Grundy County

Crime Stoppers of Grundy County is seeking information regarding a residential burglary that occurred in Coal City recently.

On July 24, between 4:30 and 10 p.m., a burglary occurred to a residence at 290 E. Division St., Coal City. A side door to the home was damaged and the door left open.

Crime Stoppers request anyone with information about this or any other criminal activity call the Crime Stoppers line at 815-942-9667. Callers may remain anonymous and rewards of up to $5,000 are offered for information leading to the arrest.

Newark woman ticketed after crash

A Newark woman was uninjured in a single-vehicle rollover accident Aug. 21, but she was ticketed as a result of the crash.

Kendall County sheriff’s deputies responded to the accident on Scotts School Road, about one-quarter mile south of Bushnell School Road, shortly after 7:30 a.m.

Nicole P. Brandon, 18, 14534B Lisbon Road, Newark, lost control of the blue minivan she was driving south on Scotts School Road. The vehicle left the roadway and struck the ditch on the east side, causing the vehicle to roll over several times.

Brandon refused medical treatment, but was issued a ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Kendall County

• The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary from a motor vehicle that occurred between 2 and 3:19 a.m. Aug. 18 at 15432 Ridge Road, Minooka. An Oswego teenager reported her black iPhone 4s was stolen from her unlocked vehicle while she was attending a party at the location.

• A Chicago man stopped for speeding on U.S. 52, near Brisbin Road in Lisbon Township, was also charged with driving without a valid driver’s license. Bryan Gomez-Beccerra was stopped by a Kendall County deputy after traveling 94 mph in a 55 mph zone at 1:33 p.m. Aug. 19. After the stop, it was determined Gomez-Beccerra did not have a valid driver’s license. He was transported to Kendall County Corrections for booking.

• A Millbrook resident called Kendall County sheriff’s police at 5:20 p.m. Aug. 21 to report two subjects riding dirtbikes on the gravel path in Millbrook Estates Subdivision. The path is signed to indicate motorized vehicles are not allowed on the path. Deputies, however, were unable to locate the subjects.

Channahon

• Nahum Cecena-Murrieta, 29, of Joliet, was arrested by Channahon police on an outstanding Will County warrant Aug. 18. Cecena-Murrieta posted the required bond and was released.
