Wayne D. Howser

PORTAGE, Mich. – Mr. Wayne Dee Howser passed away peacefully at home in Portage, Mich., on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013.

Wayne was born Nov. 4, 1925, in Mayview, Ill., to Russell Leo Howser and Hazel Greenwood Howser. He was a graduate of Urbana High School and the University of Illinois.

A longtime resident of Portage, he retired from the Upjohn Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lyle Howser.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marion Osmanson Howser; daughter, Pamela Howser Wolak (Francis) of Hendersonville, N.C.; son, Russell Howser of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter-in-law, Stella Chivikas of Portage; granddaughter, Colleen Wolak of Reston, Va.; grandsons, Patrick Wolak (Amber) of Concord, Calif., and Ryan Howser of Portage; and great-granddaughter, Skylar Wolak of Concord, Calif.

There will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wayne’s name to a charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be left at www.langelands.com. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave., Portage, Mich.
