Planned tonight at Jerry Tap in Ransom

RANSOM – On Memorial Day weekend, Jack Dobrzynski, a rural Ransom-area resident, lost control of his motorcycle as he was pulling into his own gravel driveway and in a split second, he went from a hale and hardy man in the prime of his life to a man with broken bones and a shattered skull.

When he passed away four weeks later, Dobrzynski’s family was left in a world of hurt that included more than the grief and emotional pain they were feeling. When Jack passed away, his home-improvement business died with him, leaving his family without an immediate means of support.

Friends, neighbors and clients have planned a fundraising event to celebrate Jack’s life and to help his family get on their feet.

The “Jack of all Trades” fundraiser will be today from 4 to 11:30 p.m. at Jerry’s Tap, 119 N. Lincoln, Ransom. The evening includes a spaghetti dinner, silent auction and raffle until 7 p.m., a live auction from 7 to 8 p.m., and the Psycho Billy Cadillac band playing until 11:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for the dinner and are available at the door.

Beer tickets are available for an additional charge.

Live auction items include a 42-inch big screen TV, Cubs box seat tickets, Harley-Davidson items, a Grand Bear Lodge weekend, White Sox tickets, Bulls tickets, a hand-made Windsor chair, and a new Winchester Model 9410 shotgun (must show FOID card upon successful bid) and more.
