Not only are elephants among the stars of the Kelly Miller Circus, but they also are responsible for assisting circus workers with erecting the big top when they arrive at a new location. The tent will go up Monday morning, Sept. 30, at Channahon's Central Park, with two shows that evening.

CHANNAHON – Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls… step right up! The circus is coming to Channahon on Monday.

The Kelly Miller Circus, one of only a few traveling shows still in existence, will appear in the Channahon Park District’s Central Park, with shows at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Advance tickets are only $10 for adults and $6 for children, and can be purchased at Arrowhead Community Center, 24856 W. Eames St., or Heritage Crossing Field House, 24935 W. Sioux Drive. Circus-day tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children.

The circus elephants will begin erecting the Big Top at approximately 9 a.m. circus morning. Everyone is invited to come and watch, free of charge.

Proceeds for the event will benefit the George A. McCoy Financial Assistance Program, which provides recreational scholarships for families in need. This program receives a greater share of the advance ticket sales than from tickets sold on Circus Day.

For information, contact the Channahon Park District at 815-467-7275 or visit www.channahonpark.org.
