The Home for the Holidays Parade Committee encourages area businesses and residents that participate in the 65th annual Corn Festival Parade to “hold their floats” and register to be in this year’s annual Lighted Holiday Parade.
The lighted parade, which is part of the Home for the Holidays celebration, will be at 5 p.m. Nov. 29.
The HFTH Parade Committee encourages any group or individual to participate in the parade that begins at the corner of Franklin and Washington streets and concludes at Chapin Park with the annual lighting.
The only requirement for any entry is the use of lights.
Lights for entries may be battery powered, glow lights, or electrical lights powered by generators or electrical inverters.
Entrants need to be in the lineup area between 3 and 4 p.m.
The holiday parade has been a staple on the Home for the Holidays calendar for many years, but the lighted night parade has been a success in recent years. Once again, the floats will be judged and trophies will be awarded.
The committee is working to find new ways to bring even more smiles to the faces of the hundreds of spectators who attend. Plans include glow bracelets, 3-D glasses, costumed characters and the arrival of Santa Claus in downtown Morris.
