On Aug.10, the North Central Illinois Cornfed Parrothead Club hosted its second annual Tropical Invasion fundraiser.

This beach party on Washington Street in downtown Morris featured Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band, games and contests for kids and adults, a basket raffle and a 50/50 raffle.

The fundraiser raised $3,018 to benefit We Care of Grundy County, which doubled the results from the previous year.

“We Care thanks the North Central Illinois Parrothead Club for choosing us as the beneficiary again this year, and thanks to all those who came out to help the Parrotheads party with a purpose,” said Denise Gaska, executive director of We Care.
