MINOOKA – Jacqueline C. McKinney intends to announce later this week her candidacy for the Republican nomination for the 75th state House District.
McKinney, former Grundy County Board member, is scheduled to officially announce her intent to run for the seat at 11 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the candidate. The announcement will take place in front of her Minooka home with family, friends and supporters present.
The 75th District encompasses parts of Grundy, Kendall, Will and LaSalle counties.
The 75th District state representative position is currently held by John Anthony, R-Plainfield. He was chosen as the new state representative in August to replace Pam Roth, R-Morris, who resigned to move to Texas with her family.
Also running for the Republic nomination is Grundy County Board Chairman Ron Severson, R-Morris. Former local Republican official Martha Shugart has switched parties and is going to run as a Democratic candidate for state representative in the 75th
