MORRIS – Morris Hospital is offering $30 flu shots at its Braidwood, Channahon, Dwight, Gardner, Marseilles, Minooka and Newark healthcare centers. Flu shots are available during office hours. No appointment is required.

A higher dose flu vaccine is available for $50 for individuals age 65 and older. Individuals in this age group are more susceptible to getting the flu, according to a news release from the hospital.

Flu, or influenza, is a contagious disease that causes an average 36,000 deaths in the United States each year. According to the Centers for Disease Control, an annual flu vaccine is the best way to reduce the chances of getting the flu. The CDC recommends everyone age 6 months and older get vaccinated against influenza.
