MCHS to present ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’

MINOOKA – Minooka Community High School will conduct performances of the Joseph Kesselring comedy, “Arsenic and Old Lace” on Nov. 8 and 9 in the MCHS Central Campus Performing Arts Center.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and performances begin at 7 p.m., according to a news release from the school. Tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting www.mchs.net, or at the MCHS Box Office on the evening of either performance. Call 815-521-4108 with any questions.

“Arsenic and Old Lace” is a comedy revolving around Mortimer Brewster, a drama critic who must deal with his crazy, homicidal family and local police as he decides whether to marry the love of his life. The family includes his two spinster aunts who have taken to murdering lonely, old men and burying them in the basement, a brother who believes he is Teddy Roosevelt and a murderous brother who receives plastic surgery from an alcoholic accomplice named Dr. Einstein.

The cast includes: Mckenna Murphy as Abby Brewster; Tanekia Warner as Martha Brewster; Kira Compton as Elaine Harper; Rachel Deluga as Lieutenant Rooney; Julia Barich as Officer Brophy; Emilie Belloumini as Officer Klein; Kody Isemonger as Mortimer Brewster; Evan Cook as Johnathan Brewster; Michael Raddatz as Dr. Einstein; Ben Dow as Teddy Brewster; Jon-Carlo as Manzo Officer O’Hara; Justin Brissa as The Rev. Dr. Harper and Mr. Spenalzo; Nate Garner as Mr. Gibbs and Mr. Hoskins; and Nathan Zurawski as Mr. Witherspoon. The crew includes: Stage manager, Kallie Haritopoulos; lights, Manager Kaitlynn Miner, Katie Engel and Samantha Isemonger; sound, manager Daniel Staggs and Aurora Staggs; props, manager Brooke Engel, Manager Ted Bastas and Gillian Ruggeri; costumes, manager Emily Richart and Madelyn Rogge; and hair and makeup: manager Kaitie Daniels, Manager Lexi Laurich and Paige Rogge. The director is Julie King.
