Police had to extricate a man about 3 a.m. Saturday after a one-vehicle accident on Old Stage Road.

Emergency responders were called about 3 a.m. Saturday to a one-vehicle accident on Old Stage Road.

The vehicle went off the road and a passenger received minor injuries to his ankle. Metal from the car was wrapped around his leg so the Morris Fire Protection and Ambulance District had to extricate the passenger from the vehicle, said Chief Tracey Steffes.

The accident occurred about five miles west of town on Old Stage Road near Nettle School Road.

Limited information was available Saturday morning, but Grundy County Sheriff Kevin Callahan confirmed there is a driving under the influence charge involved.
