SENECA – The Seneca Lions Club has chosen the top three Peace Posters that describe the contest’s 2013 theme “Our World, Our Future.”

First place went to Isabell Widman, while Spencer Williams took second place and Mara Bruno took third.

Lion John “Teco” Raibley presented a cash prize to Widman, of Seneca, who said the dove in her picture “represents peace as it flies over the world and future.”

The Seneca Lions received more than nine posters and the members in judging were impressed by the expressions and creativity of the students at the Seneca Middle School-South Campus, according to a news release from the Lions.

“These students have strong ideas about what peace means to them and into our future. We are so proud to be able to provide them with this opportunity for them to share their visions,” the club said in the news release.

The poster by Widman will advance to the district competition and possibly to the state and international level.
