MORRIS – Police have arrested a Morris man for unlawful use of a weapon after officers investigated earlier this week a report of gunshots.

Kyle D. Connor, 27, 2431 Oakland Circle, was arrested Wednesday by Morris police on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and misuse of registration.

“Officers responded to a report of gunshots heard and through the investigation Kyle Conner was identified as a suspect,” Chief Brent Dite said Friday.

Police obtained a search warrant for his vehicle and recovered a handgun, Dite said.

No one was injured during the incident that occurred at Oakland Circle.

“There is no indication he was shooting at anybody, but we cannot confirm exactly what he was shooting at,” Dite said.

Connor was taken to the Grundy County Jail in lieu of bond and was given a Dec. 2 court date.
