Little 10 Conference unveils 2013 All-Soccer team

The Little Ten Conference soccer coaches met in recent days to select the 2013 Little Ten All-Conference Soccer Team. Here are the 18 players recognized to represent the team this fall.

**Denotes a unanimous selection

Somonauk (7-0) – Conference Champs, Conference Tournament Champs, IHSA Class 1A Regional Champs, IHSA Class 1A Sectional Champs

**Tommy Skupien (Jr. – MF) 26 goals, 22 assists; repeat unanimous selection

**Josh Schmitt (Jr. – F) 32 goals, 8 assists; repeat selection

**Scott Thomas (Sr. – D) Outside left back for team that recorded 15 shutouts 

**Mitch Westbrook (Jr. – D) Center back for team that recorded 15 shutouts

Marcus Alstadt (Sr. – ST/MF) 11 goals, nine assists

Hinckley-Big Rock (5-2) – Conference runner-up, Conference Tournament runner-up

**Tom Sanders (Sr. – SW/MF) split time at sweeperback and defensive MF; twice a unanimous selection

**Jack Bullard (So. – MF) 11 goals, 11 assists from center midfield position

**Brett Wachowiak (Jr. – D) top marking back 

Jeremy Perales (Jr. – MF) eight goals, three assists from midfield position

Newark (4-3) – Tie third place conference

**James Bowen (Jr. – F) 26 goals, 11 assists

Paw Paw (4-3) – Tie third place conference

**Nick Siemers (Sr. – MF) 11 goals, 13 assists as midfielder, also played on defense

**Jonathan Jenkins (Sr. – F) 21 goals, seven assists

Serena (3-4) – Third place Conference Tournament

**Dalton Gunier (Sr. – F) Team leader in goals, second in assists; repeat selection

**Andrew Davis (Sr. – MF) Team leader in assists, second in goals

Earlville-Leland (3-4)

**Kyle Martin (Sr. – D) Center defender, also had 5 goals and 1 assists

**Nolan Baumbach (Jr. – D) Center defender, also played MF and had 6 goals, 2 assists

Indian Creek (2-5)

Tim Sommerfeld (Jr. – F) 18 goals, 5 assists

Hiawatha (0-7)

Gage Grant (Sr. – F) 12 goals, 2 assists, also played some on defense

Notes:

• Somonauk finished unbeaten in regular season Little Ten play for the second straight year.

The Bobcats also won the Little Ten Tournament for the third straight year.

• Somonauk won the Hinckley-Big Rock Class 1A Regional, defeating the host Royals 2-0 in the title match.

The Bobcats then beat Macomb 5-2 in overtime and Princeton 2-0 to win the Mendota Class 1A Sectional.

Somonauk fell in the Peoria Christian Supersectional by a 1-0 score to Genoa-Kingston.
