United Way collecting toys to give to tornado victims

Published: Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 5:30 a.m. CST

The United Way of Grundy County is working with a company that is collecting new toys for the children and families in Coal City and Diamond who were affected by the Nov. 17 tornado.

A distribution is planned for Dec. 19 at Diamond Banquet Hall, but preregistration is required. More families are needed to register, according to the United Way, as there may be more gifts collected than children registered.

Families with children who have been affected by the tornado are asked to call 815-942-4430 so they can be registered for the event by Thursday.
