Fossil Ridge library releases January events

BRAIDWOOD – Fossil Ridge Public Library has scheduled the following events for January. The library is at 386 W. Kennedy Road in Braidwood. For information, visit www.fossilridge.org or call 815-458-2187.

• Jan. 1 – Library closed

• Jan. 2 –  9 a.m. to noon Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program will be available for assistance. Call the Center for Community Concerns at 815-722-0722 for information.

• Jan. 6 –  5 p.m. Friends of the Library meeting.

• Jan. 6 – Teen Book Club discussing “Maze Runner” by James Dashner.

• Jan. 15 – 6 to 7 p.m, Affordable Care Act Information. Registration suggested.

• Jan. 20 – 7 p.m., Board of Trustees meeting.

• Jan. 21 – 10 a.m., Scrapbooking. Meet at the library with your scrapbooking supplies to work on your hobby.

• Jan. 22 – 6 to 7 p.m., Getting to Know Your eReader. Stop by the library to have your eReader questions answered. Registration suggested.

• Jan. 23 – 3:45 – 4:30 p.m., Smarty Paints. After-school craft activity for third- to fifth-graders. Registration is encouraged.

• Jan. 23 – 5 to 7 p.m., Teen game night.

• Jan. 24 – 3:45 – 4:30 p.m., Harry Potter book club. Monthly book club for all ages. Registration suggested.

• Jan. 27 – 6:30 p.m., Adult book club, discussing “Grave Goods” by Ariana Franklin.

• Jan. 29 – 9 a.m., Storytime. Weekly storytime for ages 3 to 5. Registration is required.

• Jan. 29 – 6 to 7:30 p.m., Genealogy 101. Steve Szabados will teach you a proven process to guide your family history search. Registration required.
