Grundy County employees recognized for service
MORRIS – More than 20 Grundy County employees were recognized this week for their years of service.
The county annually recognizes employees at service marks in five-year increments, beginning at five years of service.
“The constancy of our long-term employees – whether hired, appointed or elected – are often the backbone of our success,” Grundy County Personnel Committee Chairwoman Vicki Geiger said during Tuesday’s county board meeting. “These are the people we would like to thank and recognize this evening.”
Each employee was recognized and introduced by someone from their department.
Employees who had served for five and 10 years were given a pin and certificate. Those with 15 years of service were given a pin, certificate and $25 gift card, and those with 20 years were given a pin, certificate and $50 gift card.
Grundy County Sheriff Kevin Callahan and Penny Johnson of the Grundy County Health Department were honored for 30 years of service and presented with a $50 gift card and a commemorative wall clock. The two received standing ovations from the board and those in attendance.

Cara Anderson, Susan Johnson and Chris Johnson from the Health Department; Jana Finch from the County Assessor’s Office; Joe Goolsby, Vic Elias, Rick Enerson and Trent Olson from the Sheriff’s Office.
Employees with 10 years
Dana Agnich from the Regional Office of Education; Jeff Thompson from the Highway Department; Kay Olson from County Clerk and Recorder’s Office; Kim Lear, Chad Hrechko, Terry Baker and James White from the Sheriff’s Office.
Employees with 15 years
Shannon Bednarcik from the State’s Attorney’s Office; Karen Broncato from the Circuit Clerk’s Office; Art Ashcraft, Tanya Pauquette and LaVern Johnson from the Sheriff’s Office.
Employees with 20 years
Gary Dobbs from the Public Defender’s Office.
Employees with 30 years
Penny Johnson from the Health Department; Kevin Callahan from the Sheriff’s Office.
