Coal City 54,

Lisle 41

“We got a nice road win,” Coal City coach Brad Boresi said. “After not playing well on Friday, the guys did a nice job of bouncing back.”

Brennen Shetina scored 26 points in the win for the Coalers while Nick Peters added 13.

“Brennen did a great job of putting us on his back when others were struggling to score,” Boresi said.

Seneca 57,

Westmont 47

Conlan Callahan had 19 points, while teammates Austin Applebee and Brad Wyss contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Fighting Irish.

“It was a bit of a letdown both mentally and physically, but we built a big enough lead in the first quarter and kept them at bay,” Seneca coach Russell Witte said. “We survived a very poor shooting performance.”

Herscher 69,

Reed-Custer 56

“The kids played their hearts out tonight,” R-C coach Mark Porter said. “We just struggled shooting the ball. You don’t win many games when you shoot 8 of 49 from the 3-point line.”

Tristan Noonan had 15 points in the win by the Panthers.

“This was a real fulfilling win for the kids. We defended for 32 minutes and really had intensity from start to finish,” GSW coach Chris Gibson said.

“I thought we did a nice job of executing in the halfcourt and our patience was outstanding. This game really sets the stage for the kids to finish the season very strong.”
