Letters to the editor: Concerns with Rauner
To the Editor:
I find it very disappointing that you, the Morris Daily Herald, would endorse Bruce Rauner for governor of Illinois. A man who flat-out said he is against raising the minimum wage and would like to lower it.
He also is against unions and would like to “do away” with all of them. Do you have any idea how many union families you have in Grundy County alone? If the pensions are so good and the minimum wage so high, why do we have so many elderly and middle-age people choosing between food and their medications? What we don’t need in office is another millionaire businessman taking away what benefits we have worked so hard to get.
If we’re going to put Rauner in office, we may as well get rid of OSHA, the EPA and any other businesses that are healthy for the workers and we can all go back to owing our soul to “the company store.”
