Band, choral programs do well at contest

MINOOKA – Minooka Community High School would like to congratulate the band and choral programs on their outstanding showings at this past weekend’s IHSA State Music Organizational Contest at Reed Custer High School in Braidwood.

The band program’s wind ensemble, wind symphony, and jazz band I received Division I superior ratings from all judges at the event.

“This is the third year in a row all three bands have accomplished this high level of excellence,” band director Rick Anderson said in a news release.

The choir program’s essence and women’s chorale received first place ratings, and concert choir, mixed choir and treble choir received second place.
