Sam’s Pizza opens Morris Pinto League season with win

Sam’s Pizza edged Dairy Queen, 5-4, in a Morris Pinto league baseball game that was the season opener for both teams.

Vaughn Mills hit safely twice and made a catch at shortstop for Sam’s Pizza. Dairy Queen got a home run from Jake Volk.

Standard Bank 22, Brandt Excavating 8: Conner Dearing, Ian Wills and Lexi Hunt had three hits each for Standard Bank. Standout Brandt Excavating hitters were Brody Brandt, Conner Ahern and Andrew Petersen.

D.E. Thompson Rockets 2, Morris Hospital 2: Sydney Bruinsma, Briana Stimulis, Allison Smith and Peyton Lowden pitched for the D.E. Thompson Rockets.
