GALESBURG – Two Knox College Prairie Fire softball players who set new school records during the 2014 season have been named all-conference selections.

Senior Amber Eisha (Gardner-South Wilmington) and junior Kayla Behrens are among 12 players picked as members of the All-Midwest Conference South Division first team.

Eisha is a four-time all-conference selection after receiving the honor as a pitcher this year, although she also put up career-best numbers at the plate.  Behrens, in her second season at Knox, is a first-time All-MWC recipient as an outfielder. Knox last had two all-conference selections in 2009.

Eisha set two new school records during the 2014 season.  She is the single-season leader in hits with 44 and (appearances in the circle) with 26. She batted .404 with five home runs, 26 RBIs, 26 runs scored, and had an on-base percentage of .436. She ranked third in the Midwest Conference in hits and fifth in batting average.

Yorkville 2, Morris 1: Lauren Severson, Maddy Feeney and Emily Moore each singled for the Redskins (17-5, 5-3 Northern Illinois Big 12). Alex Cook doubled in the seventh inning, followed by a Kelly Kolotka single to score the Morris’ lone run of the game.
