Morris' Knapp wins third straight high jump title

CHARLESTON — Morris senior Haleigh Knapp won the Class 2A state title in the high jump for the third straight year Saturday, clearing 5-foot-8. She beat out Molly McGraw of Bloomington Central Catholic, who cleared 5-foot-7.

In Class 3A, Minooka senior Janile Rogers won the long jump with a leap of 18-10 3/4, beating Lake Villa Lakes' Brittany Griesbaum (18-9 1/2). Rogers was fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.01 and was the anchor of the Indians' 4x200 relay that finished sixth in 1:42.02. Other members of the relay were Latricia Dean, Megan Caldwell and Emma Tonelli.

In Class 1A, Seneca sophomore Willow Stuedemann was second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.42, trailing only Tremont senior Amelia Gleuck (12.29). Stuedemann was also fourth in the 400-meters with a time of 58.49 and sixth in the 200 (25.85). Teammate Rylee Anderson tied for eighth in the high jump, clearing 4-10. Dwight's Daly Galloway was third in the 3200 (11:07.61) and sixth in the 1600 (5:13.22).
