Grundy Bank was inducted into the Community Bankers Association of Illinois Sesquicentennial Club for “attainment of 150 years of dedicated community service” on May 19.

Lesa Black, vice president of member services, presented Kevin Olson, president and CEO of Grundy Bank, with a plaque, according to a news release from Grundy Bank.

Grundy Bank is a community bank and believes in giving back to the community it serves.

It gives back by donating its time and resources with officers and employees serving on boards and as volunteers for many nonprofit organizations within the community such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will and Grundy County, Kuzma Care Cottage of Wilmington, We Care of Grundy County, Grundy Three Rivers Habitat for Humanity, Morris Kiwanis Club and many more.

Grundy Bank also contributes funds to the United Way of Grundy County with 100 percent participation from all Grundy Bank employees for nine consecutive years.

Each year hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars are invested back to the community.

Over 10 years ago, Grundy Bank started its own charitable entity called the Grundy Bank Caring Committee.

Employees volunteer their time with the purpose of supporting organizations throughout our area by hosting different events.

These events include the Grundy Bank Brown Bag Fridays, Back to School Drive, Annual Coat Drive, Jeans Day, Adopt-a-Family, Meals on Wheels, Relay for Life and more, according to the release.

As a true community bank, it is the bank’s goal to make a difference in the lives of the people who work at Grundy Bank, the people who bank with them and for the people who rely on their support, according to the release.
