MORRIS – Cadet James Francis Kruse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kruse of Duluth, Minnesota, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Walter of Morris, and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Griggs (formerly of Morris) of Paris, Tennessee, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy on May 28.

While at West Point, he concentrated his studies in Environmental Engineering, according to a news release. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army within the engineers branch and will report to Fort Riley, Kansas, for his first assignment.

The mission of the U.S. Military Academy is to educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of duty, honor, and country and to be prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the nation as an officer in the U.S. Army.
