Search on for person reported missing in river near Morris

MORRIS – A search is underway for a person reported missing in the Illinois River near Morris.

A boat got stuck in Dresden Dam, which is a couple miles east of Morris on the Illinois River, according to Morris Fire Chief Tracey Steffes. Three people have been found and were transported to the hospital from the scene, according to Steffes. Their conditions weren't immediately available Sunday afternoon.

At least four rescue boats, as well as a Coast Guard helicopter, have been observed going out to look for what authorities have said is a fourth person.

Eleven agencies have responded to the incident.
