Mental health first aid training to be offered

The Grundy County Health Department is offering a course in mental health first aid on July 11 and July 16, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.

Those who take the 8-hour certification course learn a five-step action plan to help an individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, social and self-help care. Cost is $20 and includes eight continuing education hours and a reference manual.

The training will be held at the Grundy County Administration Building, 1320 Union St., Morris. To register or for more information, contact John Moss at the Grundy County Health Department at 815-841-3142 or email jmoss@grundyhealth.com.
