Published: Wednesday, July 9, 2014 8:27 p.m. CST

MORRIS – A vehicle heading northbound on Pioneer Road lost control, rolled into a ditch and took out a power line Wednesday afternoon.

The driver reported he was fidgeting with the radio when he lost control of his car and drove into the ditch, Grundy County Sheriff Kevin Callahan said.

The live wires ignited a small fire in the ditch and power to the area had to be shut-off momentarily while emergency crews removed the victim.

The driver was taken to Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers with injuries that weren’t life-threatening Callahan said.
