Morris High School band director will resign

MORRIS – Morris Community High School Band Director Don Stinson announced Friday that he intends to resign from his position at Morris Community High School where he has been working for the past five years.

“I’m leaving primarily for family reasons,” Stinson said. “I’ve applied for a position as band director at Naperville North High School, where I would be one of two band directors. By moving to that area, my wife will be able to have a career, too.”

He said he intends to submit his resignation Monday after the Naperville North board approves his hiring.

Superintendent Pat Halloran said that Stinson has done a great job building up the band program at Morris and he hates to see him go.

“Mr. Hussey posted a job opening in anticipation of the opening,” Halloran said. “Technology makes it easier to get resumes faster and sometimes you find a gem late in the season.”

Halloran said he anticipates the position will be filled by the start of the school year.
